About Dick
Dick Smith, born 1981, has been painting all his life and has evolved unique styles and subjects, ranging from
his magical illustrative drawings and paintings to bold inventive oils and acrylics of local scenes and landscapes.
Dick finds it hard to describe himself – he says he just loves the pleasure of painting, of seeing a picture emerge from a
blank canvas and the challenge of trying to express the vastness of nature’s landscapes within the limits of the canvas.
He lives in St Ives and in Devon, depending where he is also appearing as an accomplished actor, either at The Minack, outdoors in
St Ives on The Island or at Kidz’r’Us, performing roles from Shakespeare to Soggy the Bear.
In Devon he fills spare moments building
Yurts, like the one above - which have multi pupose uses, such as, say, a studio! Even a gallery!
